"Hispanic-owned small businesses generate $465 billion in annual sales revenue and have consumer purchasing power estimated to reach $1.5 trillion by 2015. Hispanics represent 16% of the United States population and that number is projected to reach 30% by 2050. That makes Hispanics the country’s largest economic development engine for reclaiming America’s global competitiveness. And that brings with it an enormous responsibility to U.S. Latino, their employers, their community, and America.*

It’s time for Latino talent to fulfill its role as the nation’s most valuable untapped resource. As the majority-minority since 2008, the business development current runs directly through the Hispanic community. So where are the Hispanic thought leaders, businesses and influencers? Who is building trustworthy, sustainable, and profitable relationships with Latino clients and the community-at large?

Inspiring Leaders: The Power of the Latino Perspective will showcase Northwestern Mutual’s commitment to building those relationships.

The Power of the Latino Perspective will share how Latinos can effectively succeed as leaders in the workplace and drive business growth opportunities. Through insights and first-hand experience delivered by keynote speaker Glenn Llopis, The Power of the Latino Perspective will instill confidence and inspire attendees to pursue new opportunities, embrace the entrepreneurial spirit and reach their full potential as leaders – personally, professionally and financially."

The cultural demographic shift™ in the United States is about the workplace and marketplace telling us that it is becoming less about the business defining the individual and more about the individual defining the business. This is exactly why Hispanics – both entering the workplace in search of the right employer who will allow them to be their authentic selves as well as those professionals who have been battling the gulf between assimilation and authenticity – are now ready to advance as 21st century leaders by activating their immigrant perspective; that is, the influence their cultural values have on the natural ways they think, act and are motivated to perform at work.
